As an RYA Recognized Training Establishment, Halifax Sailing and Watersports Club runs weekend training courses for
- Dinghy Sailing – RYA Basic Sailing Level 1
- Windsurfing – RYA Start Windsurfing
For non-members, courses cost the equivalent of an annual subscription, £175 for a dinghy course and £145 for a windsurfing course and include membership of the club for the remainder of the year in which the course takes place. In addition, membership of the club for the following season is offered at a 50% discount to the standard fee.
For club members who have paid a non-discounted subscription for the year in which the course takes place, the course fee is £25.

On completing the course for either RYA Basic Sailing Level 1 or RYA Start Windsurfing, trainees will, as club members, be encouraged to join the improvers groups and will be able to borrow the club’s training dinghies and windsurfers, subject to availability.
