As an RYA Recognized Training Establishment, Halifax Sailing and Watersports Club runs weekend training courses for
- Dinghy Sailing – RYA Basic Sailing Level 1
- Windsurfing – RYA Start Windsurfing
For non-members, courses cost the equivalent of an annual subscription, £185 for a dinghy course and £155 for a windsurfing course and include membership of the club for the remainder of the year in which the course takes place. Anyone who commences a course after 1st August will be entitled to a 50% discount on the following years membership..
For club members who have paid a non-discounted subscription for the year in which the course takes place, the course fee is £25.

On completing the course for either RYA Basic Sailing Level 1 or RYA Start Windsurfing, trainees will, as club members, be encouraged to join the improvers groups and will be able to borrow the club’s training dinghies and windsurfers, subject to availability.
