A light NWerly greeted Saturday sailors at Denholme and with temperatures enabling a dip in the water in a wetsuit (and that is what young people seem to like to do!!!), attendees took to the water. With Sue Lamb absent from the first half of the day, away looking at boats with Steve Davison, Henry Goodman was in charge of proceedings which included lots of paddleboarding, using the asymmetric spinnaker on the Hartley 12, trialling a Topper Magno and a rigged Laser just in case.
After a break for tea, proceedings resumed with Denis Hopley and Paul Hoyland in the safety boat, John Lamb and George Carter making sure all went well on shore which included chatting with cycling visitors Robin Boardman and Dave Walker. Windsurfer Nick Fenn also took to the water in a dinghy – well it certainly wasn’t windsurfing weather.
Henry, Sue and John would like to thank the Saturday people for the lovely presents and cards – the cat now resides beside the fire as cats usually do! There will be no Saturday sailing Saturday 26th Oct but weather permitting there will be sailing on Saturday the 2nd and 9th of November. Please bring warm gear.
