We are pleased to announce that we have once again been successful in obtaining grant funding from the Community Foundation For Calderdale (CFFC). After making an application to the 2018 EON Ovenden Moor Wind Farm Community Fund, which makes grants available to local community groups located with 5kms of the wind farm, CFFC gave us funding of £10,000 towards a new floating jetty. This year the Club has been awarded a grant of £4400 towards the cost of six new windsurfing boards. The equipment is needed to enable the Club to continue to teach windsurfing to new sailors and will replace older boards that are no longer fit for purpose. As the custodians of HxSC we must continue to maintain and develop the Club. In this way we can ensure that it continues to provide a useful service for years to come. We believe that replacing our old training equipment will help us to continue providing the best possible experience to anyone interested in joining us.
CFFC believe in thinking differently. Their grant aid is helping to eradicate inequality and provide fairer life chances to everyone in Calderdale, irrespective of race, gender, financial position or disability. They do this by annually conducting in-depth research across ten core themes, identifying areas of concern and prioritising them for funding. They work with individual donors and business supporters to fund meaningful, sustainable and vital change across Calderdale. CFFC award over £500,000 worth of grants each year locally. Grants range from £500 to £10,000 each. They support charitable organisations that can make a real and lasting difference in challenging inequality across all seventeen wards in Calderdale.
